Once again, music will be the
catalyst, making good things happen at the Annual Rice Festival, a
non-profit event, with all proceeds applied towards the funding of
the Rice Harrington Art Scholarship, created to help graduating high
school artists pursue fine art degrees in college. Each second
Saturday in November, We gather to celebrate Rice's birthday and the
Spirit he left us. Having taught art at San Marcos High School for
over 20 years, Rice's talent and influence will not be forgotten.
Rain or shine, we enjoy ourselves at historic Fischer Hall, the
funky old dance hall just off Hwy. 32, which comfortably embraces
the very best national and local Bluegrass, Folk & Acoustic
performers, in a small intimate setting...... just the way Rice
liked it. |
