Rice Harrington left a body of work in his studio that was never shown. A few of these pieces have been donated to Cabin 10, Inc. to reproduce and sell at the Rice Festival to help raise money for the Rice Harrington Scholarship. Rice's work combines a purposely casual approach to paper and materials with a real delicacy of technique and attention to detail. The humor of Harrington's subject matter operates in counterpoint with his painterly style, and his love of color and whimsy are a teastement to his love of life and good joke. While never taking itself too seriously, the work is that of a serious artist who took joy in what he made.
